Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 6, 2026 • Effective Date: August 6, 2026

100% On-Device Privacy Promise

Spoiler Stop operates completely offline on your device. We do not collect, store, track, or transmit any personal information, screen contents, or app usage data to external servers.

1. Information Collection & Usage

Spoiler Stop does not collect any personal data. All event names, selected app packages, duration timers, and intercept logs created within the app are stored exclusively in a local database on your device (`Room Database`). No data ever leaves your device.

2. Use of Android Accessibility Service API

Spoiler Stop utilizes Android's AccessibilityService API (`BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE`) for the sole purpose of detecting when a user-selected app (e.g., social media or news apps) is brought to the foreground while a spoiler event is active.

  • What is accessed: Only the package name of the foreground application (`AccessibilityEvent.TYPE_WINDOW_STATE_CHANGED`).
  • What is NOT accessed: Spoiler Stop does not read screen contents, text messages, passwords, photos, or personal data.
  • Data Transmission: Zero accessibility data is recorded, saved to disk, or transmitted off your device.
  • User Control: You can enable or disable the Accessibility Service at any time via Android System Settings.

3. Third-Party Services & Analytics

Spoiler Stop contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising networks, no analytics trackers, and no telemetry code. We do not track user behavior or device identifiers.

4. Permissions

Accessibility Service Permission: Required to detect when blocked applications open during live events.

Notification Permission: Required to display alerts when an app attempt is blocked and to provide the "I've Watched It" unblock shortcut.
